Code of Conduct

1. Commitment to Team

• I will attend all practices, games, meetings, and team events unless excused by a coach.
• I will be on time and prepared, both physically and mentally.
• I understand that playing time is earned through effort, attitude, and performance.
• I will put team success ahead of personal stats, recognition, or ice time.

2. Effort & Work Ethic

• I will give full effort in every practice, game, and team activity.
• I will compete with intensity, discipline, and a team-first mindset.
• I will take responsibility for my development on and off the ice. 

3. Respect & Sportsmanship 

• I will respect teammates, coaches, opponents, officials, and spectators at all times.
• I will not engage in taunting, trash talking, or unsportsmanlike behavior.
• I will accept officials’ decisions without argument.
• I understand that my behavior reflects on the entire program. 

4. USA Hockey & Mid-States Compliance 

• I will follow all USA Hockey and Mid-States Hockey Association rules and policies.
• I understand that penalties, suspensions, or misconducts may result in additional team discipline.
• I will play the game safely and within the rules at all times. 

5. Locker Room & Team Environment 

• I will contribute to a positive, inclusive, and respectful locker room.
• Bullying, hazing, harassment, or discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated.
• I will respect team property, facilities, and equipment.
• I will clean up after myself and take pride in our shared spaces. 

6. School & Academic Responsibility 

• I will remain in good academic standing with my school.
• I understand that academic or school disciplinary issues may affect my eligibility to participate.
• I will represent my school with pride both on and off the ice.

7. Substance Use & Conduct 

• I will not use, possess, or be under the influence of alcohol, tobacco, vaping products, or illegal drugs.
• I understand that violations may result in suspension or removal from the team.
• I will make responsible decisions that reflect positively on myself and the program. 

8. Social Media & Public Behavior 

• I will use social media responsibly and respectfully.
• I will not post or share content that is inappropriate, offensive, or damaging to the team, school, or program.
• I understand that online behavior is subject to the same expectations as in-person conduct. 

9. Accountability & Discipline 

• I understand that violations of this Code of Conduct may result in consequences, including but not limited to:
• Verbal or written warnings
• Reduced playing time
• Suspension from practices or games
• Removal from the team
• I accept responsibility for my actions and their impact on the team. 

10. Leadership & Representation 

• I will lead by example in effort, attitude, and behavior.
• I will support and encourage my teammates.
• I will represent Fort Zumwalt North Hockey with pride, class, and integrity at all times. 

11. Parent & Spectator Code of Conduct

Parents, guardians, family members, and spectators play an important role in representing Fort Zumwalt North Hockey, the school, and the Mid-States Hockey Association. By supporting this program, I agree to:

• I will treat players, coaches, officials, opposing teams, parents, and spectators with respect at all times.
• I will not harass, intimidate, threaten, or verbally abuse officials, opposing players, coaches, parents, or spectators.
• I will not use profanity, offensive language, or engage in inappropriate or unsportsmanlike behavior at games, practices, or team events.
• I will support the coaches and allow them to coach the team without interference.
• I will respect the decisions of officials and understand that disagreements must be handled appropriately and respectfully.
• I understand that my conduct reflects directly on Fort Zumwalt North Hockey, my player's team, the school, and the Mid-States Hockey Association.
• I will promote good sportsmanship by encouraging positive behavior and setting a good example for all athletes.

I understand that failure to follow this Parent & Spectator Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action, including but not limited to:

• Being asked to leave a practice, game, tournament, or team event immediately.
• Suspension from attending future team events.
• Additional disciplinary action by Fort Zumwalt North Hockey.
• Referral to and disciplinary action by the Mid-States Hockey Association, when applicable.
• Any other consequences deemed appropriate by the Club or Mid-States Hockey Association.

Parents and spectators are responsible for the conduct of all family members and guests attending on behalf of their player.
